Other than completing my school work, occasional trips to my parents' house and giving extra classes,I am having a very quiet mid-term holiday. We do not go any where and dear hubby does not even take any leave. He is busy at the moment ,preparing for his college trip to Bandung...and we do not even go to KL to join him.
Three of my children are at home.Along is still at his college.I suppose he is just going to stick to MARA and continue with what he is doing at the moment, though I can see his temptation to apply for other scholarships like
Petronas,MISC and Shell.Maybe this is due to the fact that MARA does not promise any vocation to their students after graduation.Anyway ,what is important he already got a place and a sponsor. As long as his
CGPA is excellent,I am sure any company will hire him regardless of his sponsorship. So,I hope for now he can focus on his studies.
As for
Angah she is busy with homework.Maybe she has experienced how chaotic and traumatic it can be for last minute studying. And I told her over and over that upper form syllabus is far more difficult than the lower form.A student can easily get straight As for
PMR but not for
SPM.I keep on drumming into her head that she has to be consistent and she has to start right now when she is in form four. There is no such thing as honeymoon year if she wants to score in her
SPM.Yes,co curricular activities are important but academic
performance outweighs it.Application to any universities and colleges is not based on just co cu activities, she must possess good impressive academic results too.
Maybe some people think that I am a bit harsh towards my children when it comes to education. To me, parents need to be mean in order to be kind to their children. We have to push or force our children first in order to know how far they can go.We have to make sure that they are not doing it half-
heartedly. And once they reach their level best, we stop. Many students fail not because of their inability but because of not enough trying...In fact,I have seen students fail or dropout from school not because they lack in capability, but because the lack of support, encouragement and "enough push "from parents.Yes, some may say that academic achievement is not everything.Excellent students can turn into mediocre staff when they enter the working world. However,as parents we must not use such excuse for not trying our best. What is important we have tried our best,so we leave the rest, the future of our kids to the Almighty..
Daughter
Ifah is busy too with her "
pakej percutian".Sorry ,she is not going on a holiday, but to finish her homework package. One of the content in the package is a compilation of twenty essays. She missed a few lessons before the holiday due to health problem, but now I can see that she is catching up.Well,I can only pray that she does her best..
As for big baby,he gets a rest from doing homework. He is counting the days to be at his new college. So he spends most of his time reading
Grolier encyclopedias. One thing about him is he likes to read.Sometimes he knows about certain events first than I do.
As for mommy dearest she will take a break from the chores by either blogging or
face booking. She not only manages to trace many of her friends in varsity, secondary and even primary schools but gets news as their
where about, family and work. Some are good news but a few unpleasant ones.As servants we can only plan but it is up to the Almighty to grant ....
